How to sell USDT for Birr in Ethiopia
Selling USDT for Birr works the other way round: your USDT sits in escrow while the buyer pays you directly, and it is released to them once the payment is verified.
Two ways to sell
- Take a buy ad: buyers post the price they will pay. Pick one, enter the amount, and the buyer pays you.
- Post your own sell ad: set your price, limits and which banks you accept. Buyers come to you. The USDT for the ad is reserved from your wallet while the ad is open.
Getting paid
Add the accounts you want to be paid into under payment details: Telebirr, CBE, Awash or Dashen, in your own name. A sell ad names the account buyers pay into; when you take a buy ad, your preferred account is used. The buyer pays that account directly, and the receipt is verified against it.
Releasing the USDT
Verified payments release escrow automatically. If a buyer marks the order as paid but you see nothing in your account, do not release: open a dispute from the order and support will check the receipt. USDT a buyer receives from a trade can't be withdrawn for 12 hours, which gives time to sort out an appeal.
Before you withdraw your Birr
The Birr is in your own bank or Telebirr account the moment the buyer pays; there is nothing to withdraw on our side. The USDT side is what we hold, in escrow, until the trade completes.
